NHS Covid-19 App
After months of delays, the NHS has finally launched its official contact tracing app in England and Wales. The NHS Covid-19 app will ask users who have been near someone with a positive coronavirus test result to self-isolate for fourteen days.
Protect Scotland App
Smartphone users across Scotland are being urged to download NHS Scotland’s new contact tracing app - Protect Scotland - to help suppress the spread of COVID-19. Supported by a dedicated Protect Scotland website, the app is an extra tool complementing existing person-to-person contact tracing.
Coronavirus
Google and Apple have updated their COVID-19 contact-tracing tool to make it possible to notify users of potential exposures to the novel coronavirus without a dedicated exposure app. Previously, users had to download a dedicated app from their local public health organisation in order for it to work, but now, both companies are integrating the technology more directly into their operating systems.
COVID Alert
Canada has launched a nation-wide exposure notification app to help inform Canadians when they may have been exposed to COVID-19, part of a broader effort to contain the virus as businesses and public spaces reopen across the country.
Contact Tracing Apps
While several countries in Europe have already released contact tracing apps using Apple-Google technology, Canada has announced that it has developed a new national contract tracing app that will also use the Apple-Google Exposure Notification API.
