Back in February of this year, BlackBerry entered the Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) market with the introduction of the BBM Enterprise SDK (software development kit), enabling developers to integrate secure messaging, voice and video capabilities into applications and services.
The response and interest from developers has been absolutely huge, highlighting the fact that as instant messaging becomes a primary means of communication in the enterprise, current market offerings do not provide the same level of security and encryption for which BlackBerry is indisputably famous for.
This was no so small thing! This was BlackBerry opening up their Communications Platform, a secure, hosted cloud service with a level of Enterprise-Grade Security with BlackBerry’s renowned NOC architecture.
With more than 80 security certifications and approvals to date – more than any other mobile vendor – BBM Enterprise SDK leverages this expertise to provide the highest-level of security for messages, voice, and video for iOS and Android.
BlackBerry are now making it even easier for developers to start using the BBM Enterprise SDK and any developer can download the sdk completely free.
In addition, and for a limited time, with a purchase of a 1-year subscription before October 31, new customers can get an additional 4 free months of unlimited secure messaging, voice, video, & data sharing for your apps. You get 16 months of integrated communications for the price of 12*, giving you the freedom to develop apps at no cost and to literally have four months free which you can pass onto clients, should you wish.
In addition to the many tracks and session available at the BlackBerry Security Summits in London and New York, you can also join BlackBerry to refine your knowledge of the BlackBerry CPaaS solution, BBM Enterprise SDK.
Developers can take part in a 4 hour in-depth working lab, split into two parts:
- Overview and key concepts of the BBM Enterprise SDK (2 hours) : This part will introduce the attendees to key concepts of the BBM-E SDK; it will be a mix of presentations and coding walkthroughs.
- Building Apps using the BBM Enterprise SDK (2 hours): This part will be interactive and developers can build their own apps using the SDK, review sample apps and receive technical guidance from BlackBerry engineers whom can offer real time trouble shooting/ tips and tricks
