Jason Weston, director of Amazon’s Prime Now service in the UK said,

“Prime Now is our fastest delivery option ever and we are delighted to bring it to Scotland. From today, Prime customers in Glasgow can get the items they need quickly delivered right to the door in under an hour,”

“Whether its essentials like fresh milk, nappies or even a last minute gift, customers love the convenience of delivery straight to their door in less than sixty minutes.”

Prime Now is now available to more than 30% of the UK population following the London launch in June 2015 and the service has spread rapidly to Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Portsmouth, South Yorkshire, Surrey and surrounding areas. One of the fastest Amazon Prime Now deliveries this month was Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for PS4, which was ordered at 11:10am, sent out of Amazon’s delivery station in Leeds and delivered at 11:20am to a postcode in Beeston, taking just 10 minutes from click to delivery.

Customers in selected areas in and around Glasgow have access to more than 15,000 products which will also include a range of chilled and frozen items such as ice-cream, apples, cheese and bread. The most popular purchases on Prime Now so far this year include bottled water, milk, Pepsi Max and Terry’s Chocolate Orange.

Harry Potter fans in Glasgow will be some of the first customers to receive the highly anticipated Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, by J.K Rowling, delivered at no extra cost as part of their Prime membership on its release night – Saturday 30th July. Potterheads using the Prime Now app from 22:00 up to 23:45 on 30th July can choose to get the book delivered from midnight until 02:00, while slots remain available.
