Samsung and O2 team up to build connected 5G ambulances for NHS

Samsung and O2 have teamed up to build connected 5G ambulances for the NHS. The two companies will begin testing the next-generation ambulances later this month. Eight ambulances from the East of England Ambulance Trust will be equipped with new technologies including support for real-time video and field data collection.

O2 launches unlimited data plans

O2 has joined the rest of the UK's main carriers and launched unlimited data plans of its own. These start from £33 per month on an 18-month SIM-only plan, or can be had for £35 per month on a 12-month SIM plan and with variable pricing alongside select handsets.

Microsoft has acquired London-based JClarity in an effort to bolster the performance of Java workloads on Azure. John Montgomery, Microsoft's corporate vice president of programme management for developer tools and services said that the deal would help the company to strengthen its Azure cloud computing platform by enhancing the performance of Java workloads.

Apple Card launches in US

Apple Card is available in the US starting today. Customers can apply for Apple Card through the Wallet app on iPhone and start using it right away with Apple Pay in stores, in apps and on websites.

EE files a complaint over Three UKs 5G Ads

Three UK launched its 5G service in London earlier today, promptly causing EE to file a complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) claiming that its slogan, "If it's not Three, it's not real 5G", is misleading. EE is seeking a ban on the ads because they clearly imply that alternative networks' 5G are inferior by comparison.

Three launches 5G Home Broadband

Three UK has launched its 5G service today, available in London as a home broadband service. The company says that its single 5G plan will shake up the broadband market with customers able to cancel their landline and instantly access fibre-like, ultrafast speeds compared to what the average UK customer currently obtains using traditional, fixed broadband services.

Huawei P30 Pro Wins EISA’s “Best Smartphone of the Year”

Huawei today received an award from the European Image and Sound Association (EISA), a group comprising 55 of the world’s most respected consumer electronics magazines. HUAWEI’s P30 Pro was named “EISA Best Smartphone 2019-2020” by the Association, the second year in a row Huawei has won this category.

Google Assistant will soon let you Assign Reminders for others

Google Assistant users will soon be able to assign reminders to their family and friends using the Google Assistant. The new feature will function via the Family Group feature. Once a reminder is set, say by a parent for their children, it will appear on a smartphone or a Google Assistant-powered Smart Display. However, Google says it can work for others, all that is needed is the user to be part of an opt-in group of trusted fellow Assistant users.
