Dropbox has acquired CloudOn, a developer of mobile productivity tools with an engineering hub in Herzliya, Israel.

CloudOn’s more than 30 employees will join Dropbox and the Israeli office will become a base for the company’s “aggressive hiring” in the region, Ilya Fushman, head of product, business and mobile said in an interview.

Dropbox has purchased more than a dozen startups, with a focus on adding small teams of top engineers. CloudOn is the largest number of employees Dropbox has added through an acquisition, Fushman said.

Financial details were not disclosed.

CloudOn will become Dropbox’s first Israeli office and will focus on research and development. Dropbox plans to hire more engineers for the Israel operations.
