Although Android Q hasn’t received any official dessert nickname or a final release, Huawei will be showing off their new Android Q-based OS in a few days.
The overall user interface of EMUI 10 is quite similar to that of EMUI 9.1. Based on leaked images, the launcher, Quick Settings, status bar, Settings, and notifications in EMUI 10 are identical to EMUI 9.1. However, the Settings menu has the new permission controls from Android Q, which includes the ‘only while in use’ location permission.
Also, the camera UI has been changed slightly and the OS features Android Q’s new dark mode. The dark mode can be seen in the Settings app and the Google search widget on the home-screen.
EMUI 10 is expected to ship with the new Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro out of the box. These smartphones will be launched later this year. Leaks about Huawei Mate 30 Pro suggest that the device will feature a square-shaped camera module just like the Mate 20 series phones.
This square-shaped module is expected to house a triple rear camera setup that includes two 40-megapixel sensors with an aperture of up to f/1.4 and another 8-megapixel telephoto sensor that sports up to 5X zoom.
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro is expected to sport a display that supports 90Hz refresh rate. Also, the device may have an all-glass build, which could eliminate all the physical buttons. So, the smartphone may have to depend on artificial tactile feedback that can be provided by a linear motor to mimic the feel of pressing a button. Under the hood, the device may come with Kirin 985 SoC, a 4,200mAh battery, and 55W fast charging tech.
