Manatee Works today announced its Barcode Scanner SDK is now available for integration with Google Glass applications. Corporate and enterprise mobile developers creating hands-free and wearable applications can now swiftly and easily incorporate barcode scanning into their solutions.

The Manatee Works Barcode Scanner SDK for Google Glass incorporates years of symbology recognition and decoding experience. Application developers now have the ability to leverage this expertise to enable a wide range of applications in the enterprise environment, including package handling, personnel tracking, distribution and numerous other implementations.

“As a market leader, we continue to look for opportunities to innovate the barcode scanning experience so that it aligns with emerging trends and technologies, like Google Glass,” said Jim Stein, founder and CEO, Manatee Works, Inc.

“We are enabling an entirely new mechanism for wearable devices and we’re excited to see developers adopting and creating applications for enterprise solutions utilizing hands-free interactive capabilities.”

Users of Google Glass need simply to hold a barcode within their Google Glass viewfinder to enable a quick, seamless scanning experience. Developers can quickly and easily add this functionality to their critical applications requiring hands-free barcode scanning.
