Huawei Band 4 Pro launches in China

Huawei has launched its latest fitness tracker, the Huawei Band 4 Pro. Huawei Band 4 Pro comes equipped with a heart rate sensor as well as SpO2 sensor for gauging blood oxygen saturation levels. The The Huawei Band 4 Pro features 0.95-inch AMOLED display and also offers NFC support for making contactless payments.

EMUI 10 Beta rolling out for Huawei Mate X

Huawei has begun recruiting users for the EMUI 10 beta program for the Huawei Mate X foldable smartphone. The device is currently running on EMUI 9.1 based on Android Pie. The EMUI 10 update will bring a host of new features to the Huawei Mate X including a refreshed user interface, a new dark mode, snappier performance, multi-screen collaboration, and Huawei’s HiCar among other features.

Huawei launches MatePad Pro in China

Huawei has officially launched its 10.8-inch MatePad Pro, Huawei's Kirin 990 SoC, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, a 10.8-inch 2560 x 1600 LCD screen with 540-nit brightness, up to 512GB of internal storage, a 13MP f/1.8 rear camera, and a 7,250 mAh battery with fast charging.

Huawei unveils ‘Sound X’ Smart Speaker

Huawei has teamed up with French startup company Devialet to unveil a new speaker called Sound X. The Huawei Sound X Smart Speaker has two 3.5” subwoofers (60W in total) and uses SAM bass enhancement technology. Huawei says this is the first smart speaker with a Hi-Res certification. The bass can dive to an ultralow frequency of 40Hz, allowing you to feel the bass effect with your entire body.

Huawei Mate X Foldable Smartphone goes on sale in China

Back in October,  Huawei launched its foldable Mate X smartphone and the device is now available to buy in China. The Mate X, which unfolds to 5.8 inches wide, went on sale Friday on Huawei´s online store in China priced at 16,999 yuan (£1,900 / $2,422). Those who did not manage to buy a Mate X on Friday will get another chance on 22 November when a second batch will go on sale.

Huawei gives staff $389 million for their loyalty

Huawei is giving $389 million in cash rewards to staff helping it weather a US trade blacklisting. A company announcement circulated Tuesday on social media said 90,000 employees will share 2 billion yuan ($389 million), or about 22,000 yuan ($3,100) each. Huawei's 180,000-member workforce also will receive an extra month's salary.

Huawei sells 100,000 Mate 30 5G units in one minute

Huawei Mate 30 5G and Mate 30 Pro 5G went on sale in China today and the company sold 100,000 units in just one minute. The 5G variants proved to be a hit in China just as much as the non-5G models, allowing Huawei to rake in CNY 500 million per minute during the sale.

Huawei has obtained China‘s first 5G base station network access license, showing that the company could support the country 5G rollout on a large scale and marks its official connection to public telecom commercial networks. The company is the first to be granted a license issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
