As of February 7th, Evernote will be retiring Evernote Hello, Evernote Peek, Evernote for BlackBerry 7 and Evernote for BlackBerry PlayBook.
This means they’ll no longer be available for download and there won’t be any further updates to them. It also means that the apps or features within the apps, including sync with Evernote, will no longer work.
Hello and Peek won’t necessarily be going away. Evernote says Peek was a design experiment for the iPad 2 and Smart Cover, while Hello is simply just adjunct to their services proper. Evernote is encouraging anyone who used Hello to try the Evernote app for Android and iOS, where the core functionality will remain.
If you’ve enjoyed Hello, we hope you’ll check out Evernote for iOS or Evernote for Android. Evernote’s business card camera setting turns cards into rich contacts complete with LinkedIn profile information that are available instantly across most every device.
If you’re a heavy Peek user, Evernote suggest you give StudyBlue a try. The app takes the content you have saved and turns them into flashcards and practice quizzes.
Finally, Evernote is ending support for both BlackBerry 7 and BlackBerry PlayBook users.
We’re also discontinuing support of the BlackBerry 7 OS and the BlackBerry PlayBook devices. We’re focusing on modern operating systems and have a great version of Evernote for BlackBerry 10.
If you use BlackBerry 7 or PlayBook devices, you’ll be able to find all of your Evernote notes by logging in via Evernote Web.[signoff predefined=”Enjoy this?” icon=”users”][/signoff]
