lettrs Announces New Android App, Translating Personal Messages in 80 Languages as a New Social Messaging Hit

The free Android app experienced on all Android and Kindle devices is an extension of its popular iPhone app, a platform to compose, sign, and deliver personal letters privately or share publicly.

Mobile technology platform lettrs, today announced the launch of its new native Android mobile and tablet application. The free Android app is an extension of its popular iPhone app, the first messaging platform to compose, sign, and deliver privately or share publicly.

The critically acclaimed lettrs platform and popular iPhone app has now reached downloads across 174 countries with letters being written and translated in 80 different languages, all in real time. The lettrs system creates a cloud and mobile platform within a unique social messaging network.

Innovating the power of the digital pen, lettrs also releases the market’s first-ever “social signature” which enables writers to deliver unique autographs with fine pen capabilities like that of a digital quill. Android users can create letters that are personalized, elegant, fun, engaging and now signed as digital memorabilia. The lettrs platform already integrates with Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google+. Users can also share noteworthy lettrs on Instagram, right from the lettrs app.

The new lettrs Android app also includes the following new features and functionality:

  • A limited edition series of NYC themes, applying designer filters to words and signatures
  • Geo-location stamping of signed letter messages, including photo attachments
  • Dashboard to organize personal letter writing on Kindle, Google tablets, and leading Samsung phones
  • Tagging system for mobile and tablet users for easy searching and sorting
  • Internal/native advertising space to promote in-lettrs events and personalities

“Meaningful communication is back in bold ways, and social media users are discovering the long form message, the signed letter, as a modern medium again,” said Drew Bartkiewicz, Founder and CEO of lettrs.

“It’s a great way for people and brands to build meaningful connections through the modernization of the personal letter.”

Additionally, the newly formed lettrs Foundation is the first social network that aims to create a social change. Taking a cue from salesforce.com, two percent of the lettrs company is owned entirely by the lettrs Foundation, an organization that partners with select schools and non-profits such as the Americorps, Hope for the Warriors, the Aspen Institute, and Franklin Project, to elevate the impact and longevity of their causes through a long form and more personal social network.

Says West Point and salesforce.com alumnus Bartkiewicz, “I hope the lettrs Foundation, in its singular support of literacy, legacy, and leadership, inspires the purposeful letters of the tech-enabled writers of this generation.”

The new mobile application is now available in the Google Play or the Amazon Appstore and can be downloaded to any Android tablet or phone with an Android 2.3 or later operating system.[signoff predefined=”Enjoy this?” icon=”icon-users”][/signoff]
