Apple One More Thing

Apple holding “One more thing” virtual event on November 10

First time in the Mac's 36-year history that the line will be powered by an Apple-designed processor

Apple has officially announced its upcoming November 10 event, “One more thing”, where the company is reportedly set to reveal Macs running new Apple Silicon chips.

This marks the first time in the Mac’s 36-year history that the line will be powered by an Apple-designed processor, which is said to include a range of capabilities such as HDR display support, more storage, higher bandwidth, consume less power and more.

The title “One more thing” is both a reference to Steve Jobs’ famous remark at the end of multiple Apple keynotes, but also to the many events Apple has held towards the end of this year: September, October and November have now all had their own launch events.

One More Thing

Apple announced in June that it would start designing its own chips for its computers, and promised that the first of them would arrive before the end of the year – given the company is unlikely to hold any more events in 2020, this would presumably be their last chance to show them off.

Apple has long developed its own processors for its iPhones and iPads, but this will be the first time it has done so for its Macs and Macbooks

Away from Apple’s computers, a number of rumours have suggested it is preparing other products that could arrive alongside updated Macs. Those include the “AirPods Studio” – a version of Apple’s earphones that put the same technology into an over-ear headphone design – as well as the long-running rumour that Apple is working on “AirTags” that can be attached to other objects to allow phones to find them.

You’ll be able to watch online on 10 November from 6pm UK time (10am PST).
