60% of UK Smartphone Users Unhappy with Mobile Data Speeds

A new survey has found that mobile data speeds aren’t meeting modern day requirements with 60% of respondents claiming to be unhappy with their smartphone’s mobile internet connection.

The independent survey*, commissioned by, queried 4300 users who have purchased a 3G or 4G ready contract in the last 12 months with at least 1GB of monthly data allowance.

Carried out as part of on-going research into consumers’ expectations and experience of mobile phones the survey reveals that mobile data expectations are not being met with the majority of users experiencing slow or unreliable performance on a regular basis.

Nokia Networks and China Mobile sign 970 million USD agreement

Witnessed by German and Chinese government leaders at Sino-German Economic Forum in Berlin; Nokia Networks further strengthens its TD-LTE footprint in Chinese wireless equipment market

Nokia Networks and China Mobile have announced a framework agreement for mobile communication equipment and services valued at 970 million USD (760 million euros). The agreement was signed at the Sino-German Economic Forum in Berlin by Li Huidi, Vice President of China Mobile, and Hans-Juergen Bill, Executive Vice President at Nokia and also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nokia Networks GmbH & Co KG in Germany.

EE expands 4G network across the UK to another 18 large towns

EE is expanding its 4G network across the UK to reach another 18 large towns in all four corners of the UK – from Helensburgh in Scotland to Holywood in Northern Ireland, and Prestatyn in Wales to Abingdon in England. The latest stage of the roll out brings the number of large towns and cities covered to 281, and more than 75% of the population.

With 4G also being switched on in Sandhurst, Sergeant Major better keep his eyes peeled. Recruits at the Royal Military Academy (RMA) can now enjoy all the benefits of 4G, whether uploading selfies on the sly or ditching the Ordinance Survey in favour of seamless Google Maps.
